Mayflower Centerpiece

Instructions:

You will need to trace two boat sides and the boat bottom onto cardboard and cut out.  Then on plain paper trace the sails and cut out.

Attach the sides of the boat to the bottom with tape (on the inside so the tape is not visible).  You can make the boat look more realistic by tracing the sides onto a piece of veneer and cut and glue onto the sides of the boat.  Hide the seems of the boat (at the bow and stern) by attaching thick ribbon or strips of felt with glue.  Cut a wooden dowel or wooden skewer to make the mast and attach through the holes in the sails.  Fill the boat with candy or nuts or whatever you wish and then insert the sails.
