Holiday Card

During the holiday season, every day's mail
holds well wishes and greetings from friends and family, near and
far. Rather than dealing with the constant repositioning and
mess that trying to balance the cards on a table may bring, why
not incorporate your greetings into a decorative display.
Above, the cards are threaded onto ribbon and draped across a
mantle. A simple hole punch will give you a neat way of
attaching the ribbon. Just be sure to remove the paper cards
before lighting a fire!

The display at right is easy to assemble and
easy to maintain. Wrap a large mirror or framed print that
is already hanging in your home with a thick piece of red, white,
or green fabric. Coordinating ribbon in a shade lighter or
darker can be fastened to the fabric in a criss-cross pattern with
a few stitches or pins. Slide the cards into the ribbon as
you receive them and then wrap the whole fabric with cards intact
as a keepsake of the year's good wishes.
